Abrayan Makonde

Abrayan Makonde is a professional designer as well as a farmer,The idea of establishing a farm at our community in Maktau through Mzedu Farms stemmed from my personal experiences and the opportunities that arose from leasing farms where my dad worked. Growing up in Vipingo, Kenya, I witnessed the benefits of farming firsthand, as these leased farms provided income and sustenance for our family. The seasons of planting maize and cultivating sisal at the plantation taught me the value of agricultural endeavors. Inspired by these experiences, I realized that establishing a farm in our own community could bring about positive change, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the local economy. With the vision of Mzedu Farms, I aim to share the success and knowledge gained from my upbringing, empowering our community in Maktau to thrive through sustainable farming practices.
